Reading MENNEKES model numbers: 32xx / 27xxx / 13xA
How MENNEKES numbers its industrial plugs, sockets and connectors, and how to recognise a model at a glance.
MENNEKES models are plain numbers, which is confusing the first time. There is a pattern, though — remember the rules below and you can recognise a model quickly.
Series by product type
| Series | Product type | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| 32xx | Plug (on a cable, portable) | 3247, 3250, 3251, 3252 |
| 27xxx | Socket (fixed to wall or enclosure) | 27005, 27006, 27007, 27008 |
| 13xA | Connector (portable, socket form) | 136A, 137A, 138A |
| 14xx | Socket combination | 1420, 1421 |
| AMB | Cables and accessories | AMB3200, AMB3400 |
Within a series, higher numbers mean higher current
Take plugs as an example:
| 3247 | 16A | 3P+N+E 400V IP44 |
|---|---|---|
| 3250 | 32A | 3P+N+E 400V IP44 |
| 3251 | 63A | 3P+N+E 400V IP67 |
| 3252 | 125A | 3P+N+E 400V IP67 |
The socket series 27005 / 27006 / 27007 / 27008 follows the same progression (16A to 125A).
How to identify a model quickly
- Read the leading digits for the type (32xx = plug, 27xxx = socket, 13xA = connector)
- Compare the number within the series for the current rating
- Check the actual data for the IP rating — never guess it from the number
- If unsure, just ask us — send the model and we will confirm the specification and price
Every quotation comes with a product photo and PDF datasheet, so you can check and file it.
